WELCOMEI am a solar physicist at Department of Physics of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. My main research Interests are: space and ground-based instrumentation, host star - planets connection, solar activity and space weather, education and outreach.

Instrumentation & Technology

Space and Ground-based Optical and IR spectroscopy. Focal plane instruments. Fabry-Perot interferometry. New generation solar telescopes. Telescope sub-systems thermal control.

Research interests

Space Weather ans Space Climate. Dynamics of solar atmosphere and Solar Activity. Solar Spectral Irradiance. Pattern formation. Sun-Earth connection. Earth and (exo)planetary climate. Star formation. Ae/Be Herbig stars.

Education & Outreach

Supervisor of more than 50 Bachelor's thesis, 26 Master thesis in Physics and 20 PhD thesis in Heliophysics and Astrophysics. Classes: Sun and Space Weather, Numerical Methods and Computer Science and Introductory Physics Education. Deputy Director of Master in Space Science and Technology. My aim is to encourage secondary school students to study physics, geosciences and astrophysics at University-level and to offer support to physics teachers.
